ClipForge FAQ
Straight answers about how ClipForge works, what costs credits, and what to expect while your video is processing.
What does ClipForge do?
ClipForge turns authorized YouTube links or uploaded video files into short-form vertical clips. It can find strong moments, add captions, reframe landscape footage for vertical video, combine multiple sources in beta mode, and export finished clips.
How many credits does a clip job cost?
Create Clips costs 4 credits for up to 4 analyzed minutes, then 1 additional credit for each additional started minute, up to 10 base credits for the 10-minute analysis limit. Face Follow adds 1 credit when enabled. ClipForge shows the exact cost before processing starts.
How do ClipForge credit packs work?
Every new eligible Whop user receives 10 starter credits once. Current credit-pack sizes and prices are shown inside ClipForge and checkout is handled through Whop.
Are the current credit prices permanent?
No. The current packs are limited launch pricing for early ClipForge users and may change as the service grows. Any purchased credits already on your ClipForge account do not expire just because pricing changes later.
Do purchased credits expire?
No. Purchased ClipForge credits do not expire. Your unused balance stays on your ClipForge account until you use it.
Why do shorter selected ranges cost less?
ClipForge analyzes up to 10 minutes total per project. Create Clips costs 4 credits through 4 analyzed minutes, then increases by 1 credit for each additional started minute. Each source video can be up to 40 minutes long.
Can I use a YouTube link?
Yes, for content you own or are authorized to edit. ClipForge reads the source, lets you choose a range, and prepares the media for clipping.
Can I upload my own video files?
Yes. ClipForge supports up to three video files per project and uses chunked uploads for reliability. Keep each file under 2 GB and the combined project upload under 3 GB.
Can ClipForge combine more than one video?
Yes. Combine Multiple Videos is a beta feature that appears after you add at least two sources. Results may vary because ClipForge tries to match sections that make sense together instead of blindly stitching unrelated footage.
What is Smart Mix?
Smart Mix is the default moment-finding mode. It looks for self-contained moments with a clear hook and payoff without making you configure a bunch of advanced settings.
Does ClipForge automatically add a headline?
No. Headlines are optional. The default clip uses captions and centered framing without putting a headline card on the video unless you choose to add one.
What does Face Follow do?
Face Follow is an optional BETA feature that adds 1 credit when it applies. It converts landscape footage to vertical and periodically re-checks the visually active subject, using face-first framing with motion fallback and persistence so the crop does not constantly bounce around.
How much do Find 2 More and HD export cost?
Find 2 More costs 4 credits, and Render HD costs 4 credits. Face Follow adds 1 credit to actions where it applies.
What happens if a charged job fails?
Charged processing jobs are designed to refund the reserved credits when the job fails. ClipForge also surfaces the refund in the failure state when it is confirmed.
What does the ClipForge affiliate program pay?
ClipForge Community members can earn a 25% affiliate commission on eligible referred purchases, while global affiliates can earn 20%. The affiliate rate applies across ClipForge products, subject to Whop's attribution and payout rules.
How do ClipForge sponsored placements work?
During the processing experience, ClipForge may show a limited rotating sponsored banner. A signed-in user can submit eligible banner artwork and an https destination link for review using the credit price shown in the app. The campaign clock starts only after approval. If a never-served submission is rejected, its reserved ad credits are designed to be returned automatically. Approval does not guarantee a specific number of impressions or clicks.
